I’m in the midst of redesigning and re-branding my entire website. During this process I came up with a new design that I’m pretty proud of. I showed a couple of people who had mixed opinions, not so much on the design, but more so on the color.
This got me thinking that maybe my colors were off, BUT the truth is, I didn’t just randomly pick colors. There was a thought process behind the whole thing, but I’m wondering if my thought process is correct. Read MorePost Views: 397

So I was working on a project and I added a featured image to the post. There was also an image in the post directly (in the single page view — single.php). So low and behold when I went to the homepage I saw the featured image display perfectly how I wanted and then BAM! the same image right next to it. WHY??? Well I didn’t have anything that told wordpress to display the featured image on the home/archive/category page ONLY and not the images in the post!!!

Yesterday I posted something on Twitter thinking I was helping out. I referred a product to someone who asked for a recommendation. Mind you, the product I referred has gotten only amazing reviews and has been used by people that I know who swear by it. The response that I got was:
“I’m not willing to pay a monthly fee and not own my stuff, though. May work for some but I’m picky.”
Yesterday, I also wrote an article talking about the WordPress community and my feelings toward it. The reviews were mixed but most positive and a lot of people feeling the same way. But I got comments like:
“At least for me was an empty article.” and a bunch of other snarky comments.
About an hour ago, I was researching some marketing stuff and was getting excited about this content curation plugin I found. Immediately my mind is thinking how I can use it to market and do all sorts of amazing things. I was talking to a friend out loud about it who walked by, and without hesitation, I hear a voice from a coworker. “Don’t tell him how to pollute the internet.”
This hurts me.
I feel like there’s a ton of people out there who just don’t get it and feel so comfortable in their box that they just don’t want to expand on anything else.
We learn by reading, by doing, by practicing. But everyone (including myself) tend to have pre-judgmental opinions on things they either don’t understand or don’t care to look into.
I think everyone goes through these types of stages. When I was a kid all I wanted to eat was chicken and everything else was gross. Just until recently with my business, I though funnels were just a waste of time, I just didn’t get it. Now I see how they are absolutely not!
So when I hear things like, don’t pollute the internet, or I’m picky, to me it’s like the people who just haven’t taken the red pill yet.
In your entrepreneurial journey, you will need to find tools, strategies, partners, ideas, experiments, and so much more that I can’t think of right now, but each one will effect you and what you want to do and where you want to be.
You’re in business to make money. We all need to start to think outside the box. If something makes your life easier, regardless of what it is, you should at least consider it.
If something is working great for you, awesome, why change it (but you can still experiment). We’re in the tech age and things are changing all the time. What’s cool now may be outdated later. A tool that’s awesome now can be replaced by something that makes your like 100 times easier.
We can’t be so enclosed in our box that we don’t see how many other things that are out there that can be benefiting and be helping our journey. Sometimes you need to invest, sometimes you need to stop doing things, sometimes tools need to be replaced, and sometimes you need to not be around negativity…
The thing that excited me most about these types of thinkers is it give me a great opportunity to share! Share the things I learned, the things I had to figure out, and the tools that work! Everything that I went through in my journey may not work for you, but we learn from failing! If other people failed, you can learn from their mistakes and so on!
Let’s ride this journey and keep an open mind on the amazing tools that people continue to build to literally, make our lives easier.
Stay Awesome and God Bless. Enjoy your weekend!
