I hear this a lot on forums, communities, conversations. Many people have issues adding their logo to Genesis Child Themes. I can understand this too. If you’re not familiar with CSS, then adding an image logo is kind of a pain in the ass.
Here’s how it’s done now…
- Genesis Settings => Header => Image Logo
- Then everything is blank and you have to upload you’re logo via media manager.
- Get the link.
- Go to your css.
- Find the right line that says something like
- add a background image tag.
It’s a bit annoying if you’re not used to doing it all the time.
There’s also the “custom header” way to do it, but that’s annoying too, at least to me.
I’ve got a better solution!
What if you could just upload your logo in the Theme Customizer?
Well, now you can! I just created a new plugin for the [sf-aff uri=”genesis” class=””] Genesis Framework [/sf-aff] that will allow you to easily upload your own logo!
I created it because I was tired of doing the same thing over and over again. Even explaining to people how to do it was getting annoying because it was a simple thing to understand.
So I wanted to make it easy. Now, all you have to do is install the plugin. Activate it and add the key for support and updates. Remove that annoying “Custom Header” line if it’s there. Go to your Genesis Settings, tell it you want to use an image. Then go into Appearance => Customizer and upload your logo!
That’s it. Depending on the size and shape of you’re logo, you may have to do some adjustments, but that’s that’s very minimal. The awesome thing about it is it adds an actual image, so as long as your images are responsive, then your logo will be responsive too!
